Rangemaster Metallic and Ivory Colour Deletions

Rangemaster have removed some further colour options from their product range as part of a rationalisation process. Three metallic finishes - Silver, Champagne and Gunmetal - were used on the long-standing Toledo collection, with Silver on Excel and Kitchener models. Ivory is still available for Excel, but not now for Kitchener.

These finishes have not been popular for some time, so the move makes sense for the Leamington Spa-based manufacturer Aga Rangemaster, recently acquired by US group Middleby.

was used across three styles of range cooker - Toledo, Excel and Kitchener - with

previously available on Toledo only, which now comes in either Stainless Steel with chrome or Gloss Black with satin chrome. Ivory has not gone completely (it looks great on the Excel), but is no longer available on Kitchener. The changes take effect from April 2016.

Silver, Champagne and Gunmetal are now unavailable on Toledo, Excel and Kitchener models

Kitchener models lose both Ivory and Silver, and Excel Silver only (it looks great in Ivory!)

This further slimming down of the Rangemaster product range is sensible and should not cause too much consternation with customers. The Toledo in particular has been around for a long time and although it was once the most popular modern style this slot has now been filled by the bolder and more up-to-date Professional series, and the recently launched Hi-Lite will probably take up the baton of a more conservative modern style from the older, split-hotplate Toledo at some point soon. The more broadly-used Silver was a paint-finish alternative to finger-mark prone stainless steel, but never really took off and will not really be missed. Aga Rangemaster have always been able to offer built-to-order niche choices but it is good to see some decisions being made which simplify the offering and perhaps herald the demise of some older platforms.
